About
I'm an astronomer in the Nura Gili Indigenous Centre at the University of New South Wales. My research interests are primarily in Cultural and Historical Astronomy, where I explore the astronomical knowledge and traditions of Indigenous Australians (often termed "Aboriginal Astronomy"), which was the focus of my PhD.
My other research interests are in rock art; Indigenous archaeology; meteorite impacts; historic observations of variable stars, meteors, and comets; extrasolar planets; science education and communication; and skepticism/critical thinking.
I also work as an astronomy educator, consultant, and communicator at Sydney Observatory.
B.S. in Physics - University of Missouri (2004)
M.S. in Astronomy - University of New South Wales (2008)
Ph.D. in Indigenous Studies - Macquarie University (2011 - under examination)
